" GI Thursday yet its Thursday at least in one state of the union it's been over a year now since you -- former governor Jon Huntsman. Launched a four day work week initiative with Gary -- as his lieutenant governor."

" Well mister Herbert is now -- acting governor and the program has other cities states and private companies looking to follow suit. But will -- continue and you -- we're pleased to welcome governor Herbert. An exclusive interview from Salt Lake City governor congratulations first of all for being in the state house. Thank you it's an honor to be there now I gotta it's it's a little ironic that that a man who was leading the way for a sort of a green agenda in terms of cutting back to work weekend. Saving all of these metric tons of carbon emissions it's Federer. Is not necessarily a true believer in the and that man made global warming are here."

" Well that's not true I actually have taken no position on whether man causes cataclysmic global warming. I've only said -- the I think that the science is not conclusive. And certainly in the marketplace the debate is raging."

" Okay let's talk then about how it's going I read an article in time magazine that says that 82% of state workers. Some of them actually initially were probably should -- how much going to work out my life with just four days and is going to get now actually they like it so are you getting positive response -- the people. Who were affected most."

" Well people are affected most are that are the as the public. And that of the questions still unclear on what the public perception of a four day work weekends. Clearly our employees are likely that they have more time spent her family on the weekend. Opportunities they have with longer weekend. That I think repeating to them. The public is floors their responses a little bit uncertain right now what we're trying to evaluate that."

" Governor I -- ask -- course healthcare is on everybody's front plate right now but but the question cap and trade has been kind of put that in the back burner for a while. It is if it once it comes back into play after whatever happens -- health care. How might cap and trade if in fact that's voted on how might that affect your state."

" Well -- impact Utah and other inner Mountain States and a significant way the cost of energy going up ripples throughout the economy. And will cause I think a dampening impact on our economic recovery. So for a state like Utah where 80% of our energy is coal fire produced. There would have a significant. I think. Negative impact on our growing economy."

" Okay -- I'm looking overall at at all of that you see in your particular state. How are you going on what are you hearing from their constituents about employment unemployment. Everybody's very concerned out there plus we hear so much about what's going to happen with health care so what do you hear from people when you talk."

" Well I I think in comparison Utah's doing quite well we have a little over 6% unemployment rate which is significantly. Below the national average. We have opportunities to have our high tech industry grow and prosper. We have energy not only a traditional fuels of coal oil and gas or on the cutting edge of cleaner coal technology to expand. Opportunities for new generation coal. Values we are producing wind power we have geothermal we have Hydro. We don't have now some solar power in the southern part of our state so. We're looking at energy as. A full spectrum of opportunity. And we believe that you -- fact lead the way when it comes to energy production. And so many different ways because of that I think our future's bright economically. And are we're doing actually in comparison again much better than most states what what what would you do."

" your fellow governors -- like the governor of California new York and New Jersey some of the states around us right here and on the coast. About how to have a more productive. State one that that gets its accounts and orders and one that has a lower unemployment rate."

" a couple of things that have been good for Utah one we have a conservative legislature. That understands that you live within your means you don't spend more than you take him. And the only provide those essential services that that private sector cannot provide for the public. So we try to do everything we can't -- empower the private sector to make sure that this -- feels welcome. That we encouraged that entrepreneurial spirit that risk reward has made America great and so consequently our business community feels very welcome want it. We're trying to do our best he did to keep government off the backs and -- the waltz of the people. And in doing so all it's proven to be very. Helpful to us and our economic stability bag and we balance our budgets we don't spend more we take him."

" Acting governor -- Gary Herbert great to see you keep us posted Fox Business has been very interested from the start of the forty workweek -- covering the story because and typically enough other states would like to follow the lead some thank you."

" Sounds like you're doing right things that you thank you very much appreciating her work. Will reevaluate that by the end of this year decide whether the keeper or change your modify won't please come back and see us again let us now all right. -- Bob I'll be pleased to do that thank you for --"
