" It's not the item itself that appeals to you."
" And so the connectivity is the I guess the style. Of the user. And they're grasping at either -- the same as the Mac is that artist thing and yet jobs turned around for effectiveness standpoint. And so real Art Shell out right."
" That you know that it's a key part of of my work is getting it out the door matters a lot of the small business people out there paralyze their paralyzed in fear. That the next thing they ship might cost too much people might laugh at them it might not work and so we hope to close to the chest we don't show other people we don't talk about it. And that's where dies but the challenge that we have particularly if you're going -- no budget is to go out. It handed to three people like ten people to invite twenty people to your store to have people use your product your service. Could you believe in it and you're passionate about it you make a difference for this small group of people. They're more likely to tell their friends and that is what market he's become."
" Now so as a small businessperson. -- my job as a marker then is to get the go out the way. Create this on Beyonce if you will around the product around the brand that causes it to go viral on its own. And yet I'm supposed to be intentional about this how to we let it go on its own in and yet I'm intentional I there's a bit of a paradox in my head on that help me with that well we'll grew up watching T."
" He gave and TV says make average stuff for average people an advertiser like crazy. So when your busy building your chiropractic practice. Or your lawn mowing service we're small company in makes jewelry you're trying to be average because that's when your mother -- tells you to do. And that's which you learned and that's that you grew up -- Average average average. If you ideal leader. At the very beginning long before you ship the product you have these and you stuff. Not average remarkable how do -- not conform how to write stand out how to make -- we were talking about. That's really as simple as your show your show is not typical it's not like all the other shows on TV it couldn't have been easy. To get it out there the way you do it. But that's what makes it work if it was like every other show no -- watch. That that challenge today is known Google launched their homepage only had three buttons on it. At the same time that Yahoo! had a 168. Buttons on their -- That the case that conventional wisdom was more buttons equals more money and Google rip them all out that was remarkable that was worth talking about. And as a result when people just don't have -- like can't find sitting on the Internet -- and in the Google -- I tend to Google they wouldn't get lost. That they wouldn't come back we can't give up I don't know what to do. So that challenge is to be brave enough. To make that thing in the first place don't always spread it will always go viral that's where the tribal thing comes. That you can find five or ten or hundred true fans people who are touched by what you're doing and you can connect them to each other. Then you grow and that's all the boy scouts is active boy scouts. Has no factory to have no product and yet they persist with millions of members why. Because of the kids in the true because of the leaders because of the way they're connected. And not generation only got generational -- going there that's right and then that's when your investment starts to pay off when people you've never even met. Children of your customers friends of your customers show up into business review and it hasn't cut any money to accomplish."
" Another one of the challenges today you know you mentioned Russia which is interest thing. And more of a unique position -- have to have. This particular show to stay alive and business it we enjoy it and it's fun and it's a great service and it's added we're thrilled -- that. But it's not like it's my only job and -- got that luxury that I can kind of relax and just be myself. But how do you go -- the world for -- cable. Or in the way -- book or in publishing things that you and I are both involved and where there's this huge myriad of products. And -- start the creation of your tribe how do you go with that much diversity there's too many choices out there."
" So here's what happens choices went up options went up noise went up but you know what went down how much it costs. That the amount of money it costs have a successful blog online five dollars a month the amount of money cost at 10000 people filing on Twitter zero. So since it costs nothing. To be part of the conversation. You can afford to fail a lot because failure doesn't mean renting a place for having anti. Failure means you're invested a week a month a year. And no apology but at least you went out there and gave it a shot at and decided lead. Every look at the history of organized religion we find that there were periods of time when dozens of religions were started in the short period time there's a reason for that. Because when the world ships when changes occur fissures open up an inside those things new things grow. And what's happening on the Internet now this isn't huge -- it means that somebody in Singapore can build a block and have a million people read it in a month. That was impossible. Five years ago they'll probably be impossible five years from now. But in this moment there's the opportunity if you really believe in something if you really want to see change in the world. This is your moment not to whine about it but to stand up and leave if people are just waiting to find."
