" District outrage over corporate jets have crippled the industry without any thought. To this skilled workers behind the scenes the private jet industry is under attack. And that means jobs are in jeopardy folks and we are not talking about CEOs or fat cat executive jobs we are talking about the more than one million people that industry employees. Manufactures. Aviation operators and all those service people. So -- we really hope to save this economy if we keep on firing people. Joining after the diamond district -- national business aviation association's CEO. Ed ball -- from DCMR. -- thank you for joining me in the diamond district today. Thanks for having me Rebecca. Okay so -- it's interesting you expect me this email I sounded very intriguing but I I've not taken sides of this argument one. That a lot of these corporations should not be lying -- in private jets especially those that our taxpayer supported it. Like auto makers and banking executives on the other hand. I'm always fighting for people's jobs so I see that this industry is getting decimated. Because people aren't buying in corporate jets had a was where the --"

" Well first of all let's understand that 85%. Of the companies that relying on business aviation are small and midsize companies. And they're using these airplanes to be very productive to be efficient to try to go places that commercial airlines cannot go. They're trying to -- with teams of people who want to work in groups on proprietary information. They want to move products and services. This is an important business tool. And whether company as large or small we want companies to have every tool available to them to try to be productive we also need to understand. The business aviation in the United States does mean jobs as you said one point two million manufacturing jobs. Service jobs exactly the kind of job we want and need to turn this economy around."

" What do you think it's right for. Taxpayer supported corporations like the auto makers and light. Many of these banks to be using corporate -- with dark tremendously. Much more expensive you know aside from -- There's not any airport in certain community. What they have to have a conference on the plane. That doesn't seem right though for those companies to be using private."

" Well let's declare whether we as taxpayers should want is for any company private public support. To operate in the most prudent and cost effective way price -- not after it's our. I'll sure listen if you are trying to go to a community that doesn't have good airline service. Or you're trying to move seven or eight people and have their work in -- on proprietary information. If you're trying to take a product that doesn't fit in the overhead again. There's no other way to get there so many cases where business aviation is not just cost effective and -- in some cases it's the only way to get the job done. I feel a company that's you know going from Saint Louis to Tulsa to Shreveport hello and a single -- You can't do that with anything other then business aviation we don't -- your mom dad tool -- to -- more anti."

" I can see that's reasonable when you you know you're going to areas that you're going to many areas in one day maybe it would be more cost effective to -- corporate jet. Yes. But the other companies that you see -- parent okay I'm going to choose between happiness three employees or firing then we're keeping my corporate jet."

" Well again on every mention that a company case we urge them to run the numbers and do what ever mode of transportation. Is most prudent and cost effective. If that turns out to be business aviation. We should encourage our companies to do that. And that's really what our whole effort with no plane no -- our advocacy program hasn't been about it's encouraging people to do what is best for the company. Right that means getting to someplace where you can meet new customers open new plants and facilities. When I'm in new jobs that's where you want to miss."

" ball and last question here how badly has the industry been decimated because of the negative image associated with corporate. Flying out a lot of job losses quickly."

" Well business aviation always contracts when the economy contract so there has been a lot of job losses due to the economic contraction. But there's no question it has been further exacerbated. My stereo types of business aviation data are unfounded and unfair and that's what we're trying to set the record straight about what business aviation is. And how it really operates in the United States. "

" National business aviation association's CEO and -- thank you for joining me today in the diamond district. Thank you Rebecca."

know -- through competition in the marketplace they'll have a menu of health plan options to choose from with complete transparency. What they're going to get. How much they're going to pay for -- and we will find. Have the same type of large group leverage that big companies have. When they go -- negotiate rates for their employees self I think that's an important step up and we're coupling it with tax credits to make it even more affordable. For small businesses but let's and I haven't talked of small business owner yet who wouldn't want to be able to provide health care coverage for his or her employee. They can't because it's too
