On a Twitter screenshot of a note, Offerman wrote that Ron would not like either Hillary Clinton or Donald Trump, but would vote for Clinton over Trump if he had to choose between the two.

“I got a hold of the show’s creator and Ron’s creator, I would never deign to speculate what Ron would think about something without asking my boss and we came up with what his answer was and it is so funny because many people are arguing with the guy who created the character,” Offerman said to the FOX Business Network’s Kennedy.

On the show, Ron Swanson is proclaimed as a die-hard libertarian and Offerman quickly discussed why his character wouldn’t vote for Libertarian presidential nominee Gary Johnson.

“Well, he is bit of a light weight…Just because there is a libertarian doesn’t mean it’s the best choice,” he said.

In addition, Offerman added that “Whatever I do on my property is none of your business… I’ve always felt that way, but I didn’t know that it had a term”
