Private Sector Adds More Jobs Than Expected in December

U.S. private employers added 325,000 jobs in December, easily beating economists' expectations, a report by a payrolls processor showed on Thursday.

Economists surveyed by Reuters had forecast the ADP National Employment Report would show a gain of 178,000 jobs.

ADP's November private payrolls reading was revised down to a 204,000 increase from the previously reported 206,000.

The report is jointly developed with Macroeconomic Advisers LLC.
