Helping Hands

Start the New Year off right by lending a hand to Haiti.

It's been a year since the devastating 7.0 earthquake rocked the country, and the rebuilding efforts are ongoing. Clothing retailer American Eagle Outfitters (NYSE:AEO) wants you to show your support--and wear it too--with its “Help Haiti Heal” T-shirt.

The 100%-cotton shirt sells for $15.5 0 and is available in many sizes to provide the perfect fit. All of the proceeds will be donated to Concern Worldwide's education program in Haiti, which is working to rebuild schools destroyed by the quake.

The organization is also dedicated to training teachers as part of this effort. Get yours here.

You can also find them at any American Eagle Outfitters store around the world. Supplies are limited so don’t wait.

RED Wine

While American Eagle Outfitters wants you to wear your good deeds, Australian winery Penfolds wants you to drink them. (Keep that in mind the next time you’re looking for a unique hostess gift.)

The company is teaming up with (PRODUCT)(RED), which supports the fight against HIV/AIDS in Africa. Fifteen percent of the proceeds from sales of Penfolds’ Thomas Hyland and Koonunga Hill wines will go to (RED). The program officially launches at the Palm Springs International Film Festival, so if you happen to be there, you can try before you buy.

Apps for All

If Santa  brought you a brand new smartphone this year, you’ll want to check out Appitalism.

The site has a compilation of different apps, and takes a social network approach to business, letting users compare notes with other app fans before choosing the app they want. And, the company just added the new Apple Mac app store to its collection, adding even more selections to its already enormous collection of more than ten million mobile app, iTunes songs, e-books, and digital games.

Tab for Less

If you’re on the lookout for an affordable tablet, you may want to see what Samsung has to offer.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab is getting a price cut: Once sold for $600 apiece without a data contract, Verizon (NYSE:VZ) is selling the Galaxy Tab for $499.99 in stores and online.

The Tab has a 7-inch display and has a 1GHz Hummingbird processor. The new price covers month to month service, and access to Verizon’s 3G network. Find yours here.
