Mistake
In my syndicated column this week, I wrote: "about 43 percent of 'the 1 percent' now live in 14 counties that surround the District of Columbia." I should have said that of the richest 1% of counties in the U.S., 43% are in the DC area... continue reading »

Imperial Washington
Our government is supposed to be a government of the people, by the people...but when I look at Washington, D.C., I see a government of elites. Rules are made by the elites, for the elites. It's one reason why seven of America's ten richest counties now surround D.C. In this week's syndicated column, I look at Imperial Washington... continue reading »

The Blob That Eats Kids
I blame teachers unions a lot for our failed education system. But they aren't the only ones responsible. In this week's syndicated column, I take on the education "Blob".
The Blob includes the teachers unions, but also janitors and principals unions, school boards, PTA bureaucrats, local politicians and so on... continue reading »

Illegal Everything (9PM on FBN)
I argue that America has become a country where no one can know what is legal.
Kids who open lemonade stands are now shutdown by police. I tried to open a lemonade stand legally in NYC. That was quite an adventure. It takes 65 days to get permission from the Department of Health and Mental Hygiene.
With government adding 80,000 pages of rules and regulations every year, it's no surprise that regular people break laws without even trying... continue reading »

Frack to the Future
In my syndicated column this week, I discuss celebrities' new campaign against fracking - the process of injecting chemicals into the ground to crack rocks to release oil and gas.
With everyone saying they want alternatives to foreign oil, I'd think celebrities would love fracking... continue reading »

Fracking is Wonderful
In my special tomorrow, titled "Myths, Lies and Complete Stupidity" I argue that it is myth to say that fracking, used to get natural gas out of the ground, is unacceptably dangerous.

MYTHS, LIES, AND COMPLETE STUPIDITY AIRS SUNDAY at 8 PM ET on FOX NEWS
What you think you know... is often wrong. Sunday I look at seven MYTHS... LIES... AND COMPLETE STUPIDITIES:
• FOOD... MYTH: Government should help people make healthy choices for themselves. TRUTH: The nanny state reduces your freedom while accomplishing little.
• MAIL... MYTH: The post office should deliver the mail. TRUTH: The private sector does it better... continue reading »

The Education BLOB (Airs TONIGHT at 9pm ET on Fox Business)
Public schools do a lousy job... and reformers who try to make improvements run up against the "BLOB." It's this Jabba-the-Hutt like thing that can barely be budged - the teachers' unions, janitors' unions, the school board bureaucrat, etc. The BLOB says: "We don't do that here. We have to requisition downtown. We got to get 4 or 5 people to sign off, the deputy director of curriculum has to say this is OK, etc."
The BLOB insists education needs more money, but as the chart shows, America has tripled spending, but math, reading and science scores haven't improved... continue reading »

The Sequester Wasn't Even A Cut!
Those terrifying sequester cuts sure haven't crippled America. This week in my syndicated column, I point out that if you look at all government spending, the sequester wasn't even a cut.
That may surprise you, since President Obama likened the sequester to taking a "meat cleaver" to government, causing FBI agents to be furloughed, prosecutors to let criminals escape and medical research to grind to a halt!... continue reading »
