Just now, during his State of the Union address, President Obama promised a "blueprint for an economy."

How silly. Politicians always think they can concoct a simple "blueprint" to make life fairer and better for all. But I say: No, thanks. We don't need more planning and more taxes. We need to shrink government.

Tonight I will watch the President’s endless State of the Union Address.  I will watch Congress applaud.  Again and Again.   I will watch so you don’t have to. The State of the Union is at least an action of government that is required by the Constitution.  One of the few.  Article II, Section 3 says: “He shall from time to time give to Congress information of the State of the Union and recommend to their Consideration such measures as he shall judge necessary and expedient.” Presidents use the speech to give their vision for where America should go.  They make all sorts of promises.   T... continue reading »
