Where Are the Bodies?
Today’s NYTimes features yet another scare story about industrial chemicals. The writers say that the widespread use of the weedkiller Roundup has created “superweeds” which are herbicide resistant! That “could lead to higher food pricescontinue reading »

Earth Day Myths, Lies and Downright Stupidity
Every Earth Day brings out new scaremongering from silly people. This year, one scare is that BPA, a chemical in plastic, causes "obesity, breast cancer, to prostate cancer, diabetes, brain disorders, such as attention deficit, hyperactivity disorder, liver disease, ovarian disease, disease of the uterus, low sperm count in men." That's according to a new documentary called "Tapped." So you better not drink bottled water! Yes, huge amounts of BPA fed to rats cause problems, but there's no good evidence that tiny amounts, locked into plastic, hurt people... continue reading »

So, let me at it... continue reading »

An Evil Partnership
As a young consumer reporter, I got my best tips from personal injury lawyers. These lawyers are an "investigative" reporter's perfect partner. They offer us victims with the saddest story, and the research that seems to show that some cruel company has profited by injuring people... continue reading »

Media Ignore Health Gains
Reuters has an article from this week headlined: Heart disease "will kill 400,000 Americans in 2010". True, it is still the leading cause of death in the US. But the media fail to mention the good news: our treatments for heart disease have gotten better... continue reading »
