Riots in America?
Will we soon have riots like those in Greece?
This graph shows that we're on track to reach Greek levels of debt in about ten years.
Most reporting on the Greek riots miss the big point:
The Greek "austerity" reforms aren't nearly enough... continue reading »

Minimum Wage Hurts Workers (Tonight on Fox News @ 10pm ET)
In my "Politicians' Promises Gone Wrong" special I criticize the minimum wage. That upset some people. One viewer wrote: Clint: John are you serious about the Minimum wage? ... think about all those working poor. If there is no Min Wage then what should be the Limits? ... So sad to see you selling out since your former 20/20 days. That the minimum wage helps the working poor is a popular policy. Congress recently increased the national minimum from $5.15 an hour to $7.25... continue reading »

Are Union Thugs Bankrupting America?
This Friday at 10pm, Fox News will broadcast my heated argument with NYC Transit Worker’s Union President John Samuelsen. It’s part of my special, “The Battle for the Future.” Samuelsen, of course, argues that its ridiculous for me to say that “union thugs are bankrupting America.” We also have a confrontational exchange about sick days. I said: “One fourth of your workers took more than 15 sick days. In the private sector, they wouldn’t last long doing that.” He responded, “About 25% of our work force are women... continue reading »

Pro-choice on Internships
On my show last week, I pointed out that Obama’s Labor department has taken a stand against unpaid internships (video below.) I argued that eliminating unpaid internships would quash opportunity. A journalist I had on to debate, Village Voice writer Anya Kaminetz, evidently was not too happy afterward. She posted on her Twitter feed: “Well, it happened. I taped a TV show today that I wd NOT go on again.” Others liked the show. Robin D... continue reading »

Union: “People Don’t Appreciate our Craft”
Volunteers donating their free time to work for the community is one of the best things about America. One of the worst things about America are union bullies who selfishly try to stop them. Parents at Fawcett Elementary School in East Tacoma, WA gave up their weekend to remove overgrown bushes that blocked the view of drivers pulling in and out of the school. Parents and other volunteers planned to paint and and spread bark on school playgrounds... continue reading »

Drunk with Union Power
For a glimpse at America's future, look to Europe, where powerful labor unions often hold governments and businesses hostage. Attempts at efficiency or just modernization are routinely beaten back with strikes... continue reading »
