Texas vs. California
This week, a showdown between the 2 states. Their differences reflect the battle for America's future.
Moving to California was once the dream for many Americans. Its population grew at more than double the national average--until 1990. Last decade, 2 million more Americans moved out of California than moved in. They moved to states like Texas. In the last decade, Texas' total population grew at double the national rate.

Media Hysteria
Tonight I will fight with Bill O’Reilly about “what must be done” in response to the shooting in Arizona. O’Reilly says, “new laws that provide greater safety for public officials should be considered. We simply cannot have chaos at this level.” But we don’t have “chaos.” America is safer than ever. Crime is down. Political assassinations are rare. They were once much more common. Presidents Lincoln, Garfield, McKinley and Kennedy were murdered. So were Senators James Hinds, Huey Long, Robert Kennedy and Rep. Leo Ryan... continue reading »

Some Good News!
Back from vacation, catching up on reading, I’m struck by a few odd things: Monday’s NY Times actually got some things right. First, the front page carried A STORY that said it might be good to let the free market prevail in housing!
There is a growing sense of exhaustion with government intervention... continue reading »

Supremes Say “Yes” To Guns
UPDATE, 2:30 pm: A lawyer who argued the case, Alan Gura, tells me, “This is a fantastic day for freedom in America. This is going to save lives. This decision is good nationwide... People will be able to rest easily knowing they can access firearms if they need to defend themselves.” Otis McDonald tells me he plans to have a handgun in his home as soon as he can: “I have a handgun, but it’s out-of-state... continue reading »- TAGS

More Guns, Safer Schools?
On my show this week -- which re-airs tonight at 9 pm and midnight -- I asked whether more guns could, counter-intuitively, lead to less crime. But it is even more counter-intuitive for many to imagine more guns on college campuses would be a good thing. After all, I remember being an irresponsible college student. Who wants a drunken student carrying a gun? Only twelve colleges allow it. People FOX asked on the street said things like: "it's a horrible idea." ... "Way too dangerous." ... "Absolutely not... continue reading »

Web-only Segment of Tonight's Show: More Guns, Less Crime?
My show tonight asked the question: if more people own and carry guns, is that good, or bad? The show will re-air tonight at midnight EST; Friday at 10pm EST; Saturday at 9pm and midnight EST; and Sunday at 10pm EST. To be part of the studio audience for a future show, e-mail stosseltix@foxbusiness.com

E-mail From A Viewer
Don't believe guns can be a "great equalizer" and empower people — especially smaller people, like women — to defend themselves against criminals who are bigger and stronger? Here’s an email sent to me by a viewer in Texas about how having an UNLOADED gun may have saved his daughter from being sexually assaulted.

This Week's Show: Guns Save Lives
The Supreme Court is expected to rule on McDonald v Chicago next week, determining whether Chicago -- or any other city -- can establish gun bans without running afoul of the Second Amendment. On my FBN show this week (New Time: Thursday @ 9pm ET), I'll look at what will happen if gun bans are ruled unconstitutional. I know the MSM and most of my neighbors in New York City believe that allowing Americans to carry guns would lead to chaos... continue reading »
