Pie in the Face
I like to use a visual gimmick at the beginning of my FBN show. This week I go all out. I hold a racist, "affirmative action bake sale." Then I get hit in the face with a pie. Somehow, smashing a pie into someone’s face has become some leftists’ idea of speech. They say hitting someone with a pie is justified. They are punishing “evil” speech. Poor Milton Friedman had it happen to hi... continue reading »

Tonight's Show: Bankrupting America (FBN @ 9pm ET)
This chart tells the story. Our government has already spent thirteen trillion more dollars than it has taxes to cover. Tonight's show (FBN @ 9pm ET) is all about why we're bankrupting America and what we can do about it.
The future looks ugly... continue reading »

More Speech Censorship
Should it be illegal to publicly compare the Koran to Hitler's Mein Kampf? To say that it "incites hatred and killing"? America’s First amendment protects such comments, but most countries have no such free speech guarantees. Dutch politician Geert Wilders made the claims above, and today he goes on trial for it... continue reading »

Kagan’s Exception to the First Amendment
On my show this week, which re-airs tonight at 10pm EST, and again over the weekend, I cover the threats to freedom that are hard to notice. The Bill of Rights is a wonderful thing because it declares what government may NOT do... continue reading »

What's Great About America: Free Speech
My first Fox News Channel special, titled "What's Great About America", airs this Fourth of July Weekend (Saturday and Sunday) on Fox News at 9pm Eastern Time. What is great about America? For one: We can say just about anything, thanks to the First Amendment. It reads: "Congress shall make no law... abridging freedom of speech." That makes a difference... continue reading »

Free Speech Watch
In the wake of the Supreme Court's ruling in Citizens United, President Obama and Democrats promised to leave no stone unturned in their effort to pass laws that abridge the freedom of speech. Earlier this month, they unveiled the "Democracy is Strengthened by Casting Light on Spending in Elections Act", or "DISCLOSE Act". (Really, can't they just call it the "Disclose Act"?... continue reading »

Reaction to This Week's Show
Here are some of the comments viewers had on this week's First Amendment show (re-airs Saturday at 7 & 11 ET and Sunday at 10pm ET). Many of you objected to the idea that the First Amendment gives us rights. During the show, Ayaan Hirsi Ali tells a story where a heckler demanded who gave her the right to criticize Islam. A counter-heckler shouted back: "The First Amendment!" Gene writes:
Technically, the counter-heckler was not quite correct... continue reading »

Obscene Porn Prosecution
On my FBN show this week (re-airs Saturday at 7pm & 11pm EST), I talk about the First Amendment. Although it states that Congress shall "pass no law abridging" the "freedom of speech," a 1973 Supreme Court case ruled that speech can be prohibited if it is found to be “obscene.” But what is obscene? According to that Supreme Court decision, it is speech that:
1... continue reading »
