Tonight's Show: America's Heroes...Not (FBN @ 9pm & midnight ET)
That will be my show topic tonight. I revere the Founders. The media revere the “green” movement, the anti-war movement, politicians and activists like Erin Brockovich. The media are party clueless, and apparently, so am I. Did you know the Founders fought against dancing, interracial mixing and masturbation? Did you know Martin Luther King called rock 'n' roll evil and degraded black music? Did you know Erin Brockovich’s lawyer buddies made $100,000,000 suing PG&E? The movie was wonderful, and Julia Roberts deserves her Oscar. But the “true” story behind it is largely la... continue reading »

Tonight's Show: Hollywood Gets It Wrong
This weekend is the Oscars! As a stutterer, I'm excited that the King's Speech is favored to win for best picture and best actor. It actually gets stuttering mostly right. Hollywood gets so much else wrong. For example: The movie makers obsess about the Oscars because movies that win make more money. Oscar nominees re-release their movie around Oscar season... continue reading »

Is this "a wrap" for federally funded films?
Finally, free money is running out for state funded films. States are becoming selective about which filmmakers they finance. Marshall Moore, director of the Utah Film Commission, says his state will not fund pictures that you would not “take your governor to see.” In Michigan, governors apparently do not like gore... continue reading »

Obscene Porn Prosecution
On my FBN show this week (re-airs Saturday at 7pm & 11pm EST), I talk about the First Amendment. Although it states that Congress shall "pass no law abridging" the "freedom of speech," a 1973 Supreme Court case ruled that speech can be prohibited if it is found to be “obscene.” But what is obscene? According to that Supreme Court decision, it is speech that:

Hollywood Gets It Wrong
My recent show on prohibition discussed how government, thanks to former Congressman Al Gore’s ban on the sale of kidneys, kills thousands of Americans every year. Selling organs for money may seem repulsive to you, but no one proposes forcing you to sell. We libertarians just want to allow consulting adults to be allowed to engage in commerce—all kinds—with no restrictions. Allowing organ sales would save lives and eliminate the dangers inherent in the black market organ trade. Hollywood, of course, is repulsed by the thought. T... continue reading »

Avatar and Individual Rights
I haven’t had time to see Avatar yet, but I read that the blockbuster is taking heat from folks on the Right, arguing that it is anti-American, anti-military and anti-corporate. But in the Los Angeles Times today, Cato Institute Executive VP Da... continue reading »

Free Cuban Health Care
Michael Moore, in his movie Sicko, lauds Cuban health care. Everyone gets free treatment. Too bad Americans have to pay and suffer. Of course, many socialist systems offer “free” treatment. I wonder if it's worth what they pay for it.
