Dead Children Make Bad Laws
Many are outraged that a jury found Casey Anthony "not guilty". An online petition has already gathered 650,000 signatures calling for a new law - "Caylee's Law" - that would make it a criminal offense to fail to report one's own missing or dead child to law enforcement within 24 hours (as Anthony failed to do.)... continue reading »

Digital Currency -- The Libertarian Future?
A new private currency called "Bitcoin" has hit the scene. It is a digital currency that my producer tells me is valauble partly because it's untracable: there is supposedly no way for the government, or anyone else, to see who owns or transfers Bitcoins... continue reading »

14 year old Sex Workers (O’Reilly Factor Tonight)
A new video has been released by a group called Live Action, showing a Planned Parenthood nurse telling someone whom she thought was a pimp running a child prostitution ring:
“If they’re 14 and under just send them right there if they need an abortion, ok? ”... continue reading »

This Week's Show: Attacks on Freedom
On my Fox Business program this week (Thursday @ 9pm ET), we take a look at the new threats to freedom, like Congress's drive to create more Federal crimes. It reminds me of a scene in Atlas Shrugged, where a powerful government official, Dr. Floyd Ferris, tells an industrialist:
"Did you really think that we want those laws to be observed?... continue reading »

Supremes Say “Yes” To Guns
UPDATE, 2:30 pm: A lawyer who argued the case, Alan Gura, tells me, “This is a fantastic day for freedom in America. This is going to save lives. This decision is good nationwide... People will be able to rest easily knowing they can access firearms if they need to defend themselves.” Otis McDonald tells me he plans to have a handgun in his home as soon as he can: “I have a handgun, but it’s out-of-state... continue reading »- TAGS

More Guns, Safer Schools?
On my show this week -- which re-airs tonight at 9 pm and midnight -- I asked whether more guns could, counter-intuitively, lead to less crime. But it is even more counter-intuitive for many to imagine more guns on college campuses would be a good thing. After all, I remember being an irresponsible college student. Who wants a drunken student carrying a gun? Only twelve colleges allow it. People FOX asked on the street said things like: "it's a horrible idea." ... "Way too dangerous." ... "Absolutely not... continue reading »

Tonight's Show: Self-Defense With Guns (9pm on FBN)
It is nearly impossible to get a handgun for self-defense in my hometown of New York City. Here, if you want to keep a handgun in your home, you must pay $340 and fill out a 15- page application about why you want a handgun. It can be rejected for any reason. Want a realistic toy handgun? Banned. Want to carry a handgun on your person? Forget it. Unfortunately, laws like that... kill people. No one knows that better than Suzanna Hupp, whose parents were murdered in a mass shooting at a Lubys restaurant in Texas... continue reading »

E-mail From A Viewer
Don't believe guns can be a "great equalizer" and empower people — especially smaller people, like women — to defend themselves against criminals who are bigger and stronger? Here’s an email sent to me by a viewer in Texas about how having an UNLOADED gun may have saved his daughter from being sexually assaulted.
Mr... continue reading »
