Since my previous post, readers alerted me that Pasadena, California isn’t the only U.S. city that employs goats rather than government workers.
In Washington, the Seattle Department of Transportation hired goats from “Rent-A-Ruminant LLC” to clear an overgrown slope.
Governments, as usual, don’t make it easy. Tennessee's Knoxville News Sentinel reports that a charity called “Keep Knoxville Beautiful” uses goats to rid the Fort Dickerson area of kudzu. A charity spokeswoman told us that they had to lobby for an entire year before the city would approve the use of goats.
