• Fire John Stossel?

I’ve enjoyed your feedback about my FBN show on modern Prohibition (bans on recreational drugs, prostitution, organ selling, polygamy). The show repeats tonight at 10pm EST, up against 20/20—which always pleases me. Most comments were positive, but the angry ones are often the most revealing. Here’s a sample

      Moiincols:

Calling on Fox news to fire John Stossel. We don't need anymore quacks like him on Fox. First Colmes, now Stossel!

      R Genu:

If you want to complete the demise of the American Culture all you have to do is surrender to the drug users desire to legally buy and use drugs. … you will rue the day they did. RJ Reynolds must be slobering all over themselves for this program.

      J:

WRONG IS RIGHT AND RIGHT IS WRONG.. RIGHT STOSSEL? AND MAJORITY DOES NOT RULE IN AMERICA?... SINCE WHEN... SINCE YOU AND YOUR KIND ARE NOT GETTING YOUR WAY? WELL IN AMERICA. THE MAJORITY RULES AS LONG AS AMERICA IS A REPUBLIC WITH A RULE OF LAW! WHAT IS IT THE FAR LEFT WANT? DRUGS AND SEX AND POWER AND MONEY..WELL JUST CONSIDER IF YOUR DAUGHTER OR SON GOT CAUGHT UP IN IT.. ON JUST A LAX MOMENT BECAUSE IT WAS LAWFUL? THEN WHAT?

      Jean hurston:

i completely disagree with you. Listen to Glen Beck: if you think Europe is so great, why don't you live there? …. I sure don't what to live in a country where 'anything goes.' Where are your standards??? Don't you even believe in the 10 Commandmenets?

      jckdarippur:

This article is just another liberal approach to life! Anything goes as long as it feels right to the person regardless of the stain on social and moral values nationally. Another sneaky under the table ploy for homosexual acceptance also. Liberalization of dope, prostitution, public masturbation in movie theaters, all out nudity in all TV and cinema movie industries, suicides, you name it and some liberal will champion it....

Fortunately, the majority of comments were friendly:

      Andrew:

John Stossel, your closing monologue for this show was YOUR BEST EVER! Thanks! We may indeed be the "Home of the Brave" (for at least some of them; we have no monopoly on brave people). But, how can we call our country the "Land of the Free"? I've mentally stuck that line from our anthem, indefinitely. …. I would like to feel like we measure up to those lines again. You're helping..

      Jim:

You can't legislate morality! Bring all this stuff out in the open and public opinion will start to control its usage.
