The Hill reported on Monday that Rep. Barney Frank, D-Mass., wants a cabinet post for himself – Secretary of Housing and Urban Development in the Obama administration. But don't worry, he doesn't want to leave Congress just yet -- he wants "at least two years with President Obama and a solidly Democratic Senate so that we can get the federal government back in the housing business."
Say what?! Last I checked, more than 90 percent of all housing loans "are bought by either Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, Ginnie Mae, or USDA."
Isn't that enough for Rep. Frank? Especially after housing giants Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac imploded, who can seriously argue that the federal government needs to be more involved in the housing business?
Only a politician.
