Apple Presents iPhone 4

Steve Jobs unveiled the new iPhone 4 set to be released June 24, 2010, with a price tag of $199 for the 16 GB model exclusively from AT&T. Jobs called the new phone “the biggest leap since the original iPhone.”

Thin is the Word

Apple is claiming the new iPhone 4 is the world’s thinnest Smartphone at just 9.3 milimeters thick. The battery boasts seven hours of talk time and 10 hours of web browsing on Wi-Fi and six hours on 3G networks). It also includes 10 hours of video playback and 40 hours of audio playback.

FaceTime and Retina

Among its many applications, the new iPhone 4 allows video conferencing. Apple’s new FaceTime and Retina features give users the ability of video calling.

Wi-Fi

Due to heavy Internet usage in the room, Apple CEO Steve Jobs ran into some trouble when trying to demonstrate the phone’s Wi-Fi capabilities. The newest member of the iPhone family runs on the iOS 4 operating system and provides users with the ability to multitask and create folders, with a new and enhanced mail system.

iPad Also Gets Some Love

Apple CEO Steve Jobs unveiled the iPhone 4 only a few months after the company’s release of the very successful iPad. Jobs noted the iPad’s early achievements, noting, “I was sitting in a café with my iPad, and it got a girl interested in me!” The CEO hopes to see similar results from his newest creation when it is released on June 24.
