Dish Network's Sling TV Looks To Expand South Asian Audience With Zee Entertainment Deal

Sling TV, owned and operated by Dish Network Corp. , on Thursday said it has agreed to expand its partnership with one of India's leading TV, media and entertainment companies, Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd,. in an effort to reach a wider South Asian audience in the U.S. Along with a long-term renewal of 10 Zee-branded channels from the company's South Asian programmer Asia TV USA, Ltd, Sling TV will add 27 new Zee channels. Sling TV and Dish will be the exclusive U.S. providers of Zee's on-demand library and Zee is expected to transition viewers from its direct-to-consumer services to Sling TV in coming months, according to a news release. The new channels serve a range of languages, including Arabic, Bengali, Tamil, Portuguese and Spanish, to name a few.
