Claman on Call: Netflix Soars Past Expectations

Netflix surged in after hours after the streaming content provider soared past analyst estimates for fourth quarter earnings per share, while revenue was in line with expectations. Netflix also topped its own forecast for subscribers worldwide, sending the stock higher in extended trade.

IBM also reported earnings after the bell. The tech giant beat analyst estimates for EPS but came in short on revenue in the fourth quarter. IBM stock traded down slightly in after hours trade.

Taking a look at markets -- it was a choppy trading day for U.S. stocks. The three major indices reversed earlier losses and ended the day slightly higher, with the tech sector leading the gains.

On Wednesday, the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland, kicks off. More than 2,500 participants from 140 different countries will be present.
