The Labor Day holiday weekend travel stampede started Thursday with millions of Americans hitting the road.
AAA says just under 35 million of us will journey 50 miles or more from home, which is the largest number of travelers over the Labor Day weekend since 2008. Almost 30 million of those road warriors will celebrate the end of summer driving.
Gas prices are lower than other Labor Day holidays. It cost $3.83 per gallon in 2012, $3.59 in 2013, and this year AAA says the price per gallon could hit a four-year low.
