SAN FRANCISCO – U.S. supplies of natural gas increased 75 billion cubic feet in the week ended Aug. 22, the Energy Information Administration said Thursday. That was slightly below an expected increase between 76 bcf and 80 bcf, according to analysts polled by Platts. Natural gas for September delivery was up 5 cents, or 1.2%, to $4.05 per million British thermal units. It had traded at $4.04 per million Btu before the supply report.
