PetSmart Inc. on Tuesday reported second-quarter profit of $98.1 million, or 98 cents a share, compared with a profit of $93.4 million, or 89 cents a share, for the year-ago period. Revenue rose 1.4% to $1.7 billion. Analysts polled by FactSet on average were expecting the pet supplies retailer to report a profit of 93 cents a share on revenue of $1.73 billion. Shares of PetSmart were up 1.3% after hours.
