US stocks are expected to start on a firm footing Friday after the Federal Reserve's annual banking stress test showed Thursday that 29 of the 30 largest institutions were adequately capitalised and able to withstand "severely adverse" economic scenarios.

Valutrades calls the DJIA 40 points higher at 16371 and the S&P 500 five points firmer at 1877. US stocks managed to unwind their Yellen-inspired losses on Thursday. Fed speakers--including Bullard, Fisher and Kocherlakota--will likely be closely followed Friday for further clarity on the Fed's interest rate path. The DJIA front month futures contract is currently up 0.3% at 16307.00 and S&P 500 futures contract is also 0.3% higher at 1871.10.
