LONDON – European stock markets declined on Thursday, breaking the longest winning streak of the year, as investors digested the latest round of earnings reports. The Stoxx Europe 600 index dropped 0.3% to 331.04, after closing higher for a sixth straight day on Wednesday. Shares of FLSmidth & Co. AS slid 6.6% after the engineering firm said it swung to a loss in the fourth quarter. BNP Paribas SA fell 3.2% after reporting a drop in fourth-quarter profit. Rio Tinto PLC rose 1.7% after a well-received earnings report. Among country-specific indexes, the U.K.'s FTSE 100 index fell 0.3% to 6,654.89, France's CAC 40 index lost 0.2% to 4,299.04 and Germany's DAX 30 index gave up 0.2% to 9,521.00.
