LOS ANGELES – Japanese blue-chip stocks sloped down Monday, ahead of the release of closely watched data from China, and as the U.S. dollar was little changed against the yen from late last week. The Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.4% to 15,675.90, and broader Topix lost 0.2% at 1,294.30. Decliners included NEC Corp. which was down 1.4%, Olympus Corp. fell 0.9% and Toshiba Corp. gave up 1%. Shares of Nintendo Co. , meanwhile, were ask-only roughly 15 minutes into the session. The video-game maker on Friday warned of a yearly operating loss and cut its sales estimate for its flagship Wii U game consoles. Sony Corp. , which makes the rival PlayStation console, was off 0.3%, losing grip of a modest gain.
