SAN FRANCISCO – Two Americans were among the 21 mostly Western civilians killed in an attack on a popular restaurant in Kabul on Friday, the U.S. Embassy said Saturday. CNN reports a suicide bomber detonated explosives at the entrance of the restaurant while two gunmen rushed inside and opened fire on customers. The two Americans were employees at the American University of Afghanistan, the report says. The New York Times is reporting that the Taliban have claimed responsibility for the attack.
