LOS ANGELES – Australian stocks advanced in early trade Wednesday, regaining a portion of losses logged during a selloff in the previous session. The S&P/ASX 200 rose 0.7% to 5,248, following Tuesday's 1.5% fall. In the heavily weighted financial group, shares of Macquarie Group Ltd. on Wednesday picked up 1.3% and Australia & New Zealand Banking Group tacked on 0.9%. Shares of Oz Minerals Ltd. rallied 15% after the company met its forecasts for full-year gold and copper production.
