LOS ANGELES – Japanese stocks slipped Tuesday, with the benchmark index slightly extending losses from the previous session as Japan's currency strengthened against the U.S. dollar . The Nikkei Stock Average fell 0.1% to 15,892, following Monday's slide of 2.4%, and the broader Topix fell 0.3%. Industrial issues were under pressure as shares of Komatsu Ltd. and Fujitsu Ltd. each gave up 1.1%. Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd. shares, however, outperformed the sector, picking up 0.2% after the company received a second order to provide train cars to be used in Macau's new mass-transit system.
