SanDisk 2Q Earnings Beat Expectations; Gas Prices Continue to Creep Up

Second-quarter earnings for SanDisk exceeded estimates, coming in at $1.21 per share. Revenue for the maker of flash memory for mobile devices also topped expectations at $1.5 billion.

Drivers continue to feel the pain at the pump. The national average for a gallon of regular gasoline climbed 3 cents overnight to $3.66. Experts attribute the steady increase to unrest in Egypt and the summer driving season.
