Lexmark International (LXK) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 13.7% (+$2.61) to close at $21.62 with 13.2 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $18.86 to $22.75. Shares have been on on the rise over the past month, climbing $4.26 (24.5%) from a price of $17.36 on July 30, 2012. Acme Packet (APKT) and American Science & Engineering (ASEI) also gained for the sector today.
DealerTrack Holdings (TRAK) declined 2.6% to close at $27.96, moving below its 50-day moving average of $28.66 and 200-day moving average of $28.86.
LogMeIn (LOGM) rose 4.8% to close at $21.62, approaching its 50-day moving average of $23.65. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $31.09. ASML (ETN) fell 3% to close at $56.29, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $56.13. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $44.50.
QIHOO 360 Technology (QIHU) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 6.2% (-$1.43) to close at $21.55, as 4.8 million shares moved. The stock traded in a range of $21.05 to $22.76.
Nam Tai Electronics (NTE) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $10.08 to top the previous high of $9.
