Capital Goods Sector Wrap

During trading today, both the Capital Goods sector (XLI) and the S&P500 showed little movement.

Tecumseh Products Company (TECUB) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 12.5%. The stock closed at $5.94 with 5,400 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $5.64 to $5.94.

Tecumseh Products Company (TECUA) rose 10.3% to close at $5.69, crossing its 50-day moving average of $5.33. Meanwhile, AAON (AAON) dropped 3.1% to close at $18.97, moving below its 200-day moving average or $19.47.

The Toro Company (TTC) rose 1.4% to close at $37.57, approaching its 50-day moving average of $40.70. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $58.96. Standex Int\x27l (SODA) fell 2.2% to close at $44.43, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $43.36. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $36.68.

MFC Industrial (TTT) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 5.2% (-93 cents) to close at $17.12, as 83,937 shares moved. The stock traded in a range of $17.09 to $17.63. Shares have been on an upward trajectory over the past month, rising $2.36 (16%) from a price of $14.76 on July 24, 2012.

Eagle Materials (EXP) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $41.37 to top the previous high of $41.05.

Elbit Systems (ESLT) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $29.90 to fall below the previous low of $30.27.
