Health Care Sector Wrap

During trading today, both the Health Care sector (XLV) and the S&P500 showed little movement.

As a proxy for the sector, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, XLV was up 1.2% over the last thirty trading days. The S&P 500, in comparison, went up 3.7%.

Arrowhead Research (ARWR) was a major loser in the sector, falling 14.2% (-46 cents) to close at $2.79 with 293,512 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $2.50 to $3.

Tengion (TNGN) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 14% (+38 cents) to close at $3.10 with 10,177 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $2.94 to $3.10.

Mannatech (MTEX) rose 13.7% to close at $6.63, cross its 50-day moving average of $6.53 and 200-day moving average of $4.92. Dr. Reddy's Laboratories (RDY) declined 1.6% to close at $29.41, moving below its 50-day moving average of $29.52 and 200-day moving average of $31.06.

Elan Corporation plc (ELN) rose 4.5% to close at $11.60, approaching its 50-day moving average of $12.72. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $13.28. Genomic Health (CBPO) fell 3.1% to close at $34.29, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $34.05. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $9.54.

Cambrex Corporation (CBM) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $11.57 to top the previous high of $11.56.
