The Utilities sector (XLU) showed little movement while the S&P 500 gained 0.2% during trading today.
Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, XLU was up 1.5% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was up 5.5%.
Increasing 4.3% (+60 cents) to close at $14.66, Cheniere Energy (LNG) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 5.5 million shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $14.15 to $14.67.
