Copano Energy L.L.C (CPNO) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 5.3%. The stock closed at $29.20 with 444,787 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $28.32 to $30. Shares are up over the last two months, having risen $1.95 (7.2%) from a price of $27.25 on June 12, 2012.

Integrys Energy Group (TEG) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 3.8% (-$2.35) to close at $58.80, as 1.1 million shares moved. The stock traded between $58.31 and $60.55. Cheniere Energy (LNG) rose 3.2% to close at $14.06, cross its 50-day moving average of $13.82 and 200-day moving average of $14.18. El Paso Pipeline Partners L.P (EPB) declined 1.4% to close at $33.86, moving below its 50-day moving average of $34.27 and 200-day moving average of $34.12.

Boardwalk Pipeline Partners (BWP) rose 2% to close at $27.03, approaching its 50-day moving average of $27.88. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $27.40. Spectra Energy Partners (SWX) fell 1.4% to close at $31.99, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $31.51. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $42.95.

American Electric (AEP) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $43.96 to top the previous high of $43.08.
