Services Sector Wrap

The Services sector (IYC) showed little change during trading today while the S&P 500 rose 0.1%.

Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, IYC was up 2.9% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was up 4.8%.

Charm Communications (CHRM) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 15.9% (+82 cents) to close at $5.97 with 2,000 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $5.45 to $5.97. Similarly, Alto Palermo (APSA) gained today, increasing 85 cents (+7%) to close at $13.

The Providence Service Corporation (PRSC) was a major loser in the sector, falling 13.5% (-$1.66) to close at $10.61 with 251,811 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $10.21 to $11.75.

Ascent Capital Group (ASCMA) declined 4.9% to close at $49.67, moving below its 50-day moving average of $51.35 and 200-day moving average of $50.38. Red Robin Gourmet Burgers (RRGB) rose 12.4% to close at $32.24, cross its 50-day moving average of $30.08 and 200-day moving average of $32.12.

Abercrombie & Fitch (ANF) rose 4.1% to close at $32.20, approaching its 50-day moving average of $33.23. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $40.97. BT Group plc (BT) fell 2.7% to close at $33.71, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $33.69. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $33.34.

CONN'S (CONN) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $22.26 to top the previous high of $21.62.
