The Transportation sector (IYT) showed little movement while the S&P 500 gained 0.5% during trading today.
Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, IYT was down 2.1% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was up 3.7%.

US Airways Group (LCC) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 8% (-87 cents) to close at $9.94. 15.8 million shares of the stock moved. The stock traded between $9.74 and $10.84. The share price has been dipping in the last month, down $3.55 (-26.3%) from $13.49 on July 9, 2012.
Danaos Corporation (DAC) rose 8.2% to close at $4.34, cross its 50-day moving average of $4.08 and 200-day moving average of $3.95. Quality Distribution (QLTY) declined 5.6% to close at $9.76, moving below its 50-day moving average of $10.14 and 200-day moving average of $11.39.
XPO Logistics (XPO) rose 9.2% to close at $14.19, approaching its 50-day moving average of $14.84. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $15.35. Scorpio Tankers (STNG) fell 3.1% to close at $6.18, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $6.02. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $6.14.
Covenant Transportation Group (CVTI) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $5.85 to top the previous high of $5.50.
USA Truck (USAK) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $4.02 to fall below the previous low of $4.03.
