United Fire Group (UFCS) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 11.8% (+$2.21) to close at $20.98 with 133,370 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $19.37 to $21.69. The stock is down over the last two months, having fallen 72 cents (-3.3%) from a price of $21.70 on June 7, 2012.
Direxion Daily China Bull 3x Shares ETF (YINN) rose 7.3% to close at $15.08, crossing its 50-day moving average of $14.20.

Harbinger Group (HRG) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $10.21 to top the previous high of $9.69.
