Cereplast (CERP) was a major loser in the sector, falling 13.9% (-5 cents) to close at 31 cents with 292,479 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of 31 cents to 40 cents.
Hawkins (HWKN) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 8.6% (+$3.16) to close at $39.81 with 19,543 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $37.13 to $40.41. The stock has been on an upward trajectory over the last two months, increasing $6.78 (20.5%) from a price of $33.03 on June 6, 2012.
CIRCOR International (CIR) rose 8.1% to close at $33.77, cross its 50-day moving average of $31.88 and 200-day moving average of $33.07. CVR Partners (UAN) declined 4.4% to close at $24.60, moving below its 50-day moving average of $23.99 and 200-day moving average of $24.87.
Schweitzer-Mauduit International (SWM) rose 4.3% to close at $65.31, approaching its 50-day moving average of $67.63. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $68.17.
Sherwin-Williams (SHW) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $136.85 to top the previous high of $136.16.
Guanwei Recycling (GPRC) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting 66 cents to fall below the previous low of 70 cents.
