Shares are up, having risen $2.64 (13.8%) from a price of $19.07 on July 23, 2012. Ark Restaurants (ARKR) was another big mover, climbing 75 cents (+5.1%) to a closing price of $15.50.

New Oriental Education & Tech Grp (EDU) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 8.8% (-$1.05) to close at $10.90, as 6.6 million shares moved. The stock traded between $10.58 and $12.13.

GNC Holdings (GNC) rose 2.8% to close at $39.27, crossing its 50-day moving average of $38.37. Meanwhile, Ascent Capital Group (ASCMA) dropped 4.1% to close at $50.18, moving below its 200-day moving average or $50.25.

Blue Nile (NILE) rose 5.6% to close at $25.31, approaching its 50-day moving average of $27.54. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $32.01.

Barrett Business Services (BBSI) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $25.51 to top the previous high of $24.62.
