Services Sector Wrap

The Services sector (IYC) showed little change during trading today while the S&P 500 rose 1.6%.

As a proxy for the sector, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. As trading began today, IYC was up 0.8% over the last thirty trading days, and the S&P 500 climbed 3.2%.

ITT Educational Services (ESI) was a major loser in the sector, falling 15.2% (-$7.65) to close at $42.78 with 1.9 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $39.52 to $46.80.

Cabelas (CAB) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 14.5%. The stock closed at $44.91 with 2.1 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $39.88 to $45.10. Shares have been on an upward trajectory over the past month, rising $9.30 (26.1%) from a price of $35.61 on June 26, 2012. Buffalo Wild Wings (BWLD) also gained today, climbing $3.64 (+5.2%) to close at $74.07.

Stamps.com (STMP) declined 14.8% to close at $20.65, moving below its 50-day moving average of $23.81 and 200-day moving average of $26.16.

Lululemon Athletica inc (LULU) rose 5.5% to close at $59.47, approaching its 50-day moving average of $60.55. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $65.29. StoneMor Partners L.P (STON) fell 3% to close at $25.54, moving down to 0.2% above its 200-day moving average of $25.48.
