The Consumer Cyclical sector (XLY) showed little change during trading today while the S&P 500 rose 1.6%.

Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. At the start of trading today, XLY was up 0.6% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was up 3.2%.

Oshkosh Corporation (OSK) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 15.2%. The stock closed at $22.63 with 1.5 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $20.58 to $22.67. Share price is up, having risen $3.93 (21%) from $18.70 on June 26, 2012. Dana Holding Corporation (DAN) also gained today, climbing $1.67 (+14.8%) to close at $12.99.

Xerium Technologies (XRM) declined 8.5% to close at $3.14, moving below its 50-day moving average of $3.37 and 200-day moving average of $5.30.

NIKE (NKE) rose 3.3% to close at $96.58, approaching its 50-day moving average of $96.59. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $102.98. Hooker Furniture Corporation (JOEZ) fell 1% to close at $11.63, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $11.55. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $1.00.

Kingold Jewelry (KGJI) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 8.8% (-15 cents) to close at $1.55, as 144,528 shares moved. The stock traded between $1.53 and $1.73.

China Xiniya Fashion (XNY) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $1.08 to fall below the previous low of $1.10.
