Select Comfort (SCSS) rose 26.8% to close at $27.60, cross its 50-day moving average of $22.23 and 200-day moving average of $26.00. Johnson Controls (JCI) declined 7.9% to close at $26.07, moving below its 50-day moving average of $28.00 and 200-day moving average of $30.69.
Oshkosh Corporation (POOL) fell 2% to close at $20.76, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $20.39. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $36.20. Vera Bradley (VRA) rose 3.2% to close at $21.25, approaching its 50-day moving average of $21.84. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $28.22.
Sypris Solutions (SYPR) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 12.7% (-94 cents) to close at $6.44, as 144,798 shares moved. The stock traded between $6.36 and $7.40.
Snap-on Incorporated (SNA) was a significant gainer in the sector, rising 9.6%. The stock closed at $67.24 with 1.5 million shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $61.06 to $67.62. Shares are up over the last two months, having risen $7.70 (12.9%) from a price of $59.54 on May 21, 2012.
Ceradyne (CRDN) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $22.89 to fall below the previous low of $23.69.
