Hallador Energy (HNRG) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 5.3% (-45 cents) to close at $8.03. 62,105 shares of the stock moved. The stock traded in a range of $7.83 to $8.30. Share price is up, having risen $1.47 (22.4%) from $6.56 on June 1, 2012.
Alliance Resource Partners L.P (ARLP) rose 3.8% to close at $58.23, cross its 50-day moving average of $56.92 and 200-day moving average of $64.77.

Western Refining (WNR) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $23.02 to top the previous high of $22.50.
