Capital Goods Sector Wrap

On a trading day that saw the S&P 500 gain 2.5%, the Capital Goods sector (XLI) showed little change.

Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked farther from the overall market today than over the past week. Going into trading today, XLI was up 2.6% over the last seven trading days while the S&P 500 was up 2%.

SIFCO Industries (SIF) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 12.8% (+$2.60) to close at $22.98 with 9,810 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $20.52 to $23.13.

Presstek (PRST) was a major loser in the sector, falling 10.6% (-5 cents) to close at 43 cents with 33,200 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of 41 cents to 47 cents.

China Advanced Con. Materials Gr. (CADC) fell 3.6% to close at $1.64, crossing its 50-day moving average of $1.69. Meanwhile, Moog (NYSE:MOG.A) climbed 6.4% to close at $41.35, moving past its 200-day moving average of $40.80.

Esterline Technologies Corporation (ESL) rose 6% to close at $62.35, approaching its 50-day moving average of $63.02. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $63.55.

RADA Electronic Ind. (RADA) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $1.04 to fall below the previous low of $1.05.
