On a trading day that saw the S&P 500 gain 0.9%, the Services sector (IYC) showed little change.
The ETF, as a proxy for the sector, tracked farther from the overall market today than over the past week. Entering today's trading, IYC was down 1.5% over the last seven trading days while the S&P 500 climbed -1.7%.
Dollar Tree (DLTR) fell 51.8% to close at $53.48, crossing its 50-day moving average of $104.83. Meanwhile, Liquidity Services (LQDT) climbed 6% to close at $51.11, moving past its 200-day moving average of $48.27.
Family Dollar Stores (CMG) fell 2% to close at $69.13, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $68.80. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $389.21. Focus Media (FMCN) rose 5.2% to close at $22.47, getting closer to its 200-day moving average or $22.78.
O'Reilly Automotive (ORLY) was one of the sector's big losers, as its price dropped 14.3% (-$13.83) to close at $82.61. 12.9 million shares of the stock moved. The stock traded in a range of $75.61 to $83.44. Shares are down over the last two months as the price has dropped $22.89 (-21.7%) from a price of $105.50 on April 30, 2012.
