The Utilities sector (XLU) showed little change during trading today while the S&P 500 rose 0.2%.

Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, XLU was up 4.5% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was up 2.7%.

EnerNOC (ENOC) was a major gainer in the sector, rising 8.8% (+53 cents) to close at $6.56 with 615,498 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $6.09 to $6.85. Share price is up 90 cents (15.9%) from $5.66 on May 17, 2012.

EDENOR (EDN) was a major loser in the sector, falling 5.8% (-13 cents) to close at $2.12 with 3,219 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $2.04 to $2.29.

Crosstex Energy L.P (XTEX) fell 3.8% to close at $15.99, crossing its 50-day moving average of $16.19. Meanwhile, Targa Resources (TRGP) climbed 1.3% to close at $43.17, moving past its 200-day moving average of $42.91.

Enersis (ENI) rose 1.8% to close at $17.78, approaching its 50-day moving average of $18.31. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $18.86.

Brookfield Infrastructure Partners L.P (BIP) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $33.64 to top the previous high of $33.58.

TC Pipelines (TCP) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $38.20 to fall below the previous low of $38.40.
