Capital Goods Sector Wrap

During trading today, both the Capital Goods sector (XLI) and the S&P500 showed little movement.

The ETF, as a proxy for the sector, tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past week. Going into trading today, XLI was down 4.5% over the last seven trading days while the S&P 500 went up -3%.

Patrick Industries (PATK) was a major loser in the sector, falling 7.3% (-88 cents) to close at $11.13 with 166,638 shares moving. The stock traded between $10.81 and $12.08.

Increasing 7% (+76 cents) to close at $11.59, EDAC Technologies Corporation (EDAC) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 21,497 shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $9.92 to $11.62. The share price has dropped $1.98 (-14.6%) from $13.57 on May 3, 2012.

Michael Baker Corporation (BKR) rose 1.5% to close at $23.09, cross its 50-day moving average of $22.87 and 200-day moving average of $22.74.

Sodastream International (SODA) rose 5.7% to close at $31.97, approaching its 50-day moving average of $32.85. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $35.15. The Toro Company (MTH) fell 1.1% to close at $70.91, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $70.79. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $25.49.

US Silica Holdings (SLCA) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $10.01 to fall below the previous low of $10.80.
