Consumer Cyclical Sector Wrap

During trading today, the Consumer Cyclical sector (XLY) showed little change while the S&P 500 fell 0.2%.

The ETF, as a proxy for the sector, tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past week. Going into trading today, the S&P 500 was up -0.6% over the last seven trading days, but XLY was down 0.1%.

Increasing 11.3% (+19 cents) to close at $1.87, Virco Mfg. Corporation (VIRC) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 1,500 shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $1.83 to $1.87.

CLARCOR (CLC) fell 0.8% to close at $48.80, crossing its 50-day moving average of $48.85. Meanwhile, Cherokee (CHKE) climbed 3.9% to close at $12.09, moving past its 200-day moving average of $11.93.

K Swiss (KSWS) rose 7.6% to close at $2.99, approaching its 50-day moving average of $3.31. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $3.51. Movado Group (PVH) fell 2.7% to close at $27.70, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $26.92. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $80.06.

Neonode (NEON) was a major loser in the sector. Its price dropped 6.2% (-38 cents) to close at $5.74, as 1.1 million shares moved. The stock traded between $5.56 and $6.04.

LKQ Corporation (LKQ) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $36.62 to top the previous high of $36.34.

Vera Bradley (VRA) hit a new 52-week low today, hitting $20.72 to fall below the previous low of $21.29.
