During trading today, the Financial sector (XLF) showed little change while the S&P 500 fell 0.3%.

Although it went in the opposite direction of the market today, the ETF tracked closer to the overall market today than over the past month. Entering today's trading, XLF was down 4.4% over the last thirty trading days while the S&P 500 was down 2.3%.

Summit Financial Group (SMMF) was a major loser in the sector, falling 15.1% (-89 cents) to close at $5.01 with 2,452 shares moving. The stock traded in a range of $5.01 to $5.90.

Increasing 12.3% (+$1.09) to close at $9.98, Net one UEPS Technologies (UEPS) was a major gainer in the sector. Today, 235,678 shares traded hands. The stock traded in a range of $9 to $10.33. Share price has been increasing, and is up $1.53 (18.1%) from a price of $8.45 on May 4, 2012.

Corpbanca Sociedad Anonima (BCA) rose 3.7% to close at $20.90, cross its 50-day moving average of $20.33 and 200-day moving average of $20.69. National Western Life Insurance Company (NWLI) declined 0.6% to close at $138.47, moving below its 50-day moving average of $136.69 and 200-day moving average of $139.24.

CME Group (CME) rose 0.5% to close at $262.94, approaching its 50-day moving average of $275.34. It has also moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $266.86. BOK Financial Corporation (BANF) fell 1.4% to close at $57.34, moving closer to its 50-day moving average of $56.10. Also, the stock moved closer to its 200-day moving average of $39.74.

Salient MLP And Energy Infrastructure (SMF) hit a new 52-week high today, reaching $27.50 to top the previous high of $26.89.
